Las Vegas rides

Every road ride, mountain bike trail and motorcycle route on the site, grouped by mode, with who manages each one and what it costs to get in.

Every ride, trail and route on the site, grouped by how you ride it: road bike, mountain bike or motorcycle. The best riding around Las Vegas is on public land, and several different agencies manage it. That matters more than you'd think: each one sets its own fees, hours and rules for bikes and motorcycles. Red Rock Canyon is Bureau of Land Management land with a timed-entry system for cars and motorcycles. Lake Mead and the Historic Railroad Trail are National Park Service land, where a person on a bicycle pays an entrance fee. Part of the River Mountains Loop runs through the park too. Valley of Fire is a Nevada state park. Mount Charleston is national forest. Bootleg Canyon is run by the City of Boulder City, and Hoover Dam by the Bureau of Reclamation.

Each ride below lists the managing agency, the distance and climbing where the agency or trail group publishes them, what it costs to get in, and when to go. Every ride page lists its sources and the date we checked them. If a figure isn't published by someone who runs the land or the trail, we say so instead of guessing.

A rule of thumb for all of them: carry more water than you think you need, and check the agency's alerts page before you go. Summer heat here is dangerous. Our heat guide has the monthly normals and the warning signs. For what Nevada law expects of you on the road, see the bicycle and e-bike laws or the motorcycle laws.
