About Bike Las Vegas

Road rides, mountain bike trails, motorcycle routes and Nevada riding rules around Las Vegas, checked against the agencies that run them.

Who makes this

Bike Las Vegas is an independent guide to riding around Las Vegas on a road bike, an e-bike or a motorcycle, made in Las Vegas by the Bike Las Vegas team. Bike Las Vegas is an independent, unofficial guide made by the Bike Las Vegas team. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the National Park Service, the Bureau of Land Management, the USDA Forest Service, Nevada Division of State Parks, the Nevada DMV, Nevada Rider, Recreation.gov, the River Mountains Loop Trail Partnership, Las Vegas Cyclery, Giant Las Vegas, Southwest Bikes, Trek Bicycle Las Vegas, Pedal & Pour, Strava, Meetup, the Las Vegas Valley Bicycle Club, the City of Boulder City, Lee Canyon, the Southern Nevada Mountain Bike Association, All Mountain Cyclery, Sunrise MTB, the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, Harley-Davidson, H.O.G., EagleRider, EuroCycle Rentals, Las Vegas BikeFest, Boulder Dam Brewing Co., Einstein Bros. Bagels, or Mt. Charleston Lodge.

What's here

The site covers the rides people actually ask about: the Red Rock Canyon Scenic Drive, the Historic Railroad Trail and River Mountains Loop, the roads through Lake Mead and Valley of Fire, and the climb up Mount Charleston. Each ride page says which agency manages the land, what it costs to get in on a bike or a motorcycle, when it's open and what closures are coming up. Separate guides summarize Nevada's bicycle, e-bike and motorcycle laws, with the statute numbers, and the heat risks of riding in the desert.

The directory side lists bike shops that rent and service road bikes, and the weekly group rides they publish. It's small on purpose. We only add a shop after checking its own website, and we only list a group ride that has a current public schedule.

How we check facts

Every fact on this site comes from a primary source: the land manager (the Bureau of Land Management, the National Park Service, the Forest Service or Nevada State Parks), the Nevada Revised Statutes, the Nevada DMV, the National Weather Service, or the shop itself. Each page lists its sources and the date we last checked them. When we can't confirm something, we leave it out instead of guessing. We don't invent prices, hours, quotes or statistics, and we don't publish rumors.

Listings are marked “Unclaimed” until the business confirms them. A listing isn't an ad and it isn't paid. Our law summaries aren't legal advice, and our ride pages can't tell you whether a road is safe for you on a given day. Check the agency's alerts and the forecast before you go.
